A Big Top fabric structure does not require a concrete pad as a foundation and can be anchored to nearly anything, even dirt. Our buildings can be deployed exactly where they are most needed on the jobsite to help optimize mining operations, and they can be installed quickly, at a rate of 2,500 square feet per day.
Engineered for Strength
Supported by a galvanized, industrial-grade steel frame, our fabric mining structures can hold strong for decades with little maintenance required. If field operations are located in areas with intense weather patterns, we can engineer our temporary buildings for heavy wind and snow loads in accordance with International Building Code.
Portability
Mining operations change over the years, necessitating the need for relocating infrastructure. Big Top’s fabric structures are long-term solutions that can be moved around the current footprint intact with a crane and disassembled and shipped to the next jobsite.
Naturally Illuminated
The fabric cover of a Big Top building is translucent and allows sunlight to fully illuminate the interior, eliminating the need for an electric lighting system and related energy costs.
Thermally Protective
Another great benefit of the fabric cover is its impressive thermal performance. It is formulated to repel 99.95% of harmful UV-A and UV-B radiation for a UPF rating of 2,000 and conventional rating of 50 plus. This means employees, materials, and equipment are well protected from exposure to the sun under the cover of a Big Top fabric structure.
Comfortable Interiors
Thanks to the outstanding thermal performance of the fabric cover, our shelters naturally maintain a pleasant interior temperature that is, on average, 15 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than the temperature outside. Mining professionals working inside our fabric shelters are comfortable throughout the day, without relying on artificial climate control driving up operating costs.
