Numerous Applications of Fabric Tension Structures
Businesses across nearly every industry rely on fabric tension structures to help with their operations and there are many reasons why. First and foremost, they cost less to build and require fewer materials than permanent buildings, and they take less time to construct. Plus, they don’t require a concrete foundation. In fact, they can be anchored to nearly anything, including asphalt, ecology blocks, and shipping containers, making them a far more versatile option. Here at Big Top, we’ve been custom designing fabric structures for businesses all over the country and across all industries since 1979. Our tension shelters are commonly used as:
Warehouses
Our fabric tension structures can be tall enough to accommodate racking for storage and climate controlled for environmentally sensitive materials.
Equipment Maintenance Shelters
The fabric roof in our buildings is industrial strength and repels 99.95 percent of UV-A and UV-B radiation, protecting your crew from sun exposure and helping to maximize the lifespan of your equipment’s electronics.
Sandblasting & Paint Containment
Big Top’s fabric buildings provide proper containment for all blasting, including Black Beauty adhesives, as required by the EPA, and they can be equipped with ventilation to remove fumes and hazardous airborne debris.
Hangars & Sunshades
Protect your aircraft from sun exposure with a fabric sunshade or hangar. For military purposes, our hangars and sunshades ensure mission readiness and are approved by USACES as being compliant with U.S. Air Force Sunshade Management (AFSM), Air Force Instruction (AFI), and IBC. Additionally, they’re compliant with the Berry Amendment.
Recycling & Waste Management Facilities
Recyclable materials can lose their value if left exposed to the elements, and composting cannot be done in inclement weather. Our fabric tension structures are rip resistant and supported by an industrial-strength steel frame that can withstand any inclement weather to ensure production can continue nonstop. And, odors are minimized thanks to natural ventilation.
Lunchrooms & Safety Meeting Facilities
A fabric shelter can be built large enough to house your employees for lunch breaks and safety meetings. By adding lightning protection, you can even use your structure as a muster station in an emergency.
These are just some ways Big Top’s fabric tension structures are used by companies in the construction, aviation, military, marine, environmental, and other industries. Indeed, the versatility and custom designs that Big Top provides have kept our customers coming back again and again, year after year. Some other features of our shelters include:
- The fabric roof is translucent and will flood the interior space with natural light, minimizing or eliminating the need for artificial lighting.
- The interior naturally remains at a comfortable temperature that is on average 15 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than the outside temperature.
- The structure can be moved around your property by crane and can be disassembled and shipped to a new location or stored for future use if needed.
- There are numerous accessories available to meet your needs, including HVAC systems, insulation, doors, flooring, and more.
