Fabric Structures for Agile Combat Employment
As defense technology evolves, so do defense practices. The U.S. Armed Forces are increasingly seeing the value in maintaining smaller bases in uncommon locations around the globe rather than fewer and bigger bases. This Agile Combat Employment (ACE) concept includes prepositioning equipment and materials at remote bases the military can use in contingency situations. For example, aircraft can be diverted from a conflict to one of these remote bases where it can be refueled, rearmed, and quickly returned to the fight.
Regionally Based Cluster Pre-Position Kits
At Big Top Fabric Structures, we specialize in rapid-deployable fabric military buildings. Our structures are ideal for use as regionally based cluster pre-position (RBCP) kits, as they are portable, can be anchored to nearly any type of foundation, and are reusable. This versatility is exactly what is needed to make ACE a success for military operations around the world.
Versatile Solutions for the U.S. Military
Since 1979, we’ve stayed abreast of the needs of the U.S. Armed Forces, delivering custom fabric structures for a variety of military uses. Our RBCP kits are ideal for ACE operations due to the many advantages they provide, including:
Our buildings can be erected at a rate of 2,500 square feet per day.
Aligning with the ACE concept, our temporary fabric structures use far fewer materials and cost much less than permanent buildings.
Our RBCP kits can be moved around the base intact with a crane. They can also be disassembled and shipped to a different location to keep pace with changing operations.
Big Top’s fabric structures feature a translucent roof that will allow natural sunlight to fully illuminate the interior, eliminating the need for artificial lighting.
Protection From the Elements
The translucent roof is formulated to repel 99.95 percent of UV-A and UV-B radiation, shielding personnel and equipment from the damaging effects of sun exposure. Our RBCP kits can also be outfitted with lightning protection, allowing them to be used as muster stations.
Natural Climate Control
Our fabric military structures naturally maintain a pleasant interior temperature that is, on average, 15 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than the outside temperature, ensuring personnel are comfortable throughout the day.
Supported by an industrial-grade, galvanized steel frame, our temporary buildings can hold strong year after year. They can also be engineered for heavy wind and snow loads for bases located in such climates.
