When
the US Marine Corps sought custom solutions for maintenance
of heavy equipment at their 29 Palms location, Big Top
Manufacturing provided two unique types of structures.
One shelter is customized to house wash racks for the
washing of large trucks and heavy equipment. The 36Wx60Lx
29H shelter helps prevent harmful UV rays from effecting
equipment.
|
|
Big
Top provided a second custom solution by connecting three
shelters using ISO containers as a shared foundation.
The three-unit building provides an ideal maintenance
and storage area for heavy equipment, while the container
foundation saved the client money. The largest of the
three units is 44 feet wide, while the side units are
each 28 feet wide. The three-unit building solution also
includes custom roll up doors. |

Top client, Matson Navigation, requested two large
shelters to be installed on their cargo transport ships
The Greatland and Lurline. The Greatland structure was
an 18,400 sq ft. structure and the Lurline was 21,000
sq ft. Both were used to dock large car transport ships.
The shelters were custom designed to protect cars from
the ships' exhaust acid as well as withstand high wind
speeds. Although used to transport cars from Seattle
to Hawaii, the installation took place in China. Project
was completed with accelerated lead time -- project was
completed within six weeks of order. |

| This
shelter was installed in a more cost effective manner
by allowing large concrete blocks to serve as a foundation
for the shelter. The shelter is used for keeping waste
dry until processing can take place. |

| The
Hugo Neu/Schnitzer East Steel structure uses large steel ISO
containers as a foundation, which saved the client
a considerable amount of money for construction. Built
in an environmentally sensitive area, the fabric shelter
construction helped negate issues associated with building
permits and increased property taxes. |
