Fabric shelters are commonly used on military bases to provide temporary storage for equipment, personnel, vehicles, and other items. Big Top structures can be easily transported in standard 40 foot containers or optionally packaged for air shipment on 3 train pallets and shipped anywhere in the world quickly and economically. These shelters can be purchased on Government Credit Cards or from our GSA contract. Please call or submit this military validation form to access a GSA price list and information packet.
Rapid Deployment Fighter Jet Sunshade
Yuma, Arizona
Flight Line Sunshades have been installed in Yuma, Arizona and China Lake, California. Big Top has designed a system that reduces heat fatigue of personnel, as well as, reduces temperatures on aircraft that are stored outside. Our proprietary system reduced temperatures on the seat and the window canopy of the aircraft by as much as 71 degrees Fahrenheit!!! Temperatures on the nose of the aircraft were reduced by 24 degrees Fahrenheit. The test was conducted by military personnel and the results are available by request.
The military has utilized Big Top hangars all over the world in all weather conditions. These structures can be erected without footings or foundations on any type of surface. Each structure is custom designed to provide a total solution to the military for unique and challenging projects. This structure was custom fabricated to cover maintenance personnel while they work on the electronics of the KC-10.

Eglin Air Force Base

Eglin Air Force Base
The Eglin Air Force Base sun shade is relocatable, quickly deployable, and employs a flight line sunshade design to decrease the temperature of aircrafts up to 24 degrees. A blast shield like the one used at Edwards AFB was not necessary at Eglin due to the taller height of the Eglin shelters.

United Arab Emirates

 U.A.E.
Northrop Grumman hired Big Top to customize a hangar for the Global Hawk with large 120 ft wide doors. The hangar was designed and fabricated in record time -- arriving at its destination overseas within two weeks of the order date. Employees from the Red Horse Squadron of Hurlburt Field were trained to install this structure.

Edwards Air Force Base

Bahamas
This sunshade was especially designed to fit the FA 22 fighter plane and was fitted with a durable blast shield in the ceiling of the shelter which would withstand the extreme heat of the FA22 upon start up.   Big Top installed two shelters for USCG in the Bahamas. These buildings were used for housing helicopters for maintenance in the Caribbean. This building can weather winds in excess of up to 140 MPH.
