Fabric Structures for Ports
Big Top’s fabric structures provide ample shelter for myriad uses on ports and marinas. Whether you need coverage for your vessel, a bulk storage warehouse for cargo coming in and off ships, or a facility for maintenance, receiving, and inspection, our structures can be custom built to nearly any size to suit your needs and can be anchored to just about any foundation, including shipping containers.
To protect your equipment, cargo, and staff, the fabric in our structures blocks 99.95 percent of UV-A and UV-B radiation and can withstand heavy wind and snow loads. Additionally, our fabric is NFPA-701 fire retardant and will not catch fire. We can fully meet the unique needs of your port by including any number of accessories with our fabric structures, such as:
- Ventilation to reduce moisture
- HVAC for a controlled climate
- Small doors for personnel and large bay doors for watercraft
- Dividers to delineate different work areas
- Crane rails for telescopic maneuvering
- A sliding roof that allows access by crane
- Lightning protection
- And more
Furthermore, the translucent fabric in our structures allows in enough natural sunlight to eliminate the need for artificial light. However, we can also set up a support system for full electric lighting, if needed. The fabric also helps to maintain a comfortable interior temperature that is 15 degrees warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer than the outside temperature, ensuring a pleasant working environment for your staff.
Big Top’s fabric structures are currently being used at ports all over the world due to their convenient modular designs, protective features, lower installation and energy costs in comparison to permanent buildings, and potential tax savings.
