Fabric Structures Outfitted with Solar Technology
Fabric structures from Big Top not only offer a cost-effective alternative to permanent buildings for organizations that need a space for manufacturing, materials processing, safety meetings, or other usages, but they also provide versatility with a modular design and numerous add-on features. One such feature is solar technology.
By utilizing one of our fabric structures, you’ll already take advantage of reduced energy usage thanks to the translucent nature of our fabric, which allows in plenty of natural sunlight to illuminate the interior space without the need for artificial lighting. However, if your shelter will be used at night, Big Top can certainly wire it for lighting or other accessories that require power, including:
- Air conditioners
- Air scrubbing systems
- Hydraulic-powered doors
- And more
Having the capability of attaching solar technology to offset some of your power usage will provide even more energy savings. And, while your solar panels soak up the sun to store energy, the fabric in our structures repels its radiation to protect your staff and equipment. In fact, our fabric blocks 99.95 percent of harmful UV-A and UV-B radiation, for a UPF rating of 2,000 and a conventional rating of 50 plus. This also helps our shelters maintain a comfortable interior temperature that is an average of 15 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than the outside climate.
